You are not the mistakes of your past – you are the lessons and capabilities you have gained from it. Be at peace with yourself – intimately, wholesomely and lovingly. Don’t let the mistakes of your past dictate who you are now or in the future because it has no bearing. Break free from it’s stronghold on you.

I know it might be causing you to feel anxious in the stomach and resentful of the facts, but what person has never made mistakes? – It happens to the best of us. You know what can be special about you? The way you respond – that’s what’s going to define you. Nobody or no-one should be able to make you feel like you’re not worthy of a positive future just because of who they perceive you to be. So here’s where it starts – where you take responsibility of your past actions and channel all that anxiety, all that resentment and all that fear into something better and more profound.
Take some reflection time, but most importantly set up some measures to make sure the same mistake doesn’t happen again. Obviously you are feeling the way you are now because you aren’t happy with your contributions to past situations and you would like to do it differently next time. What seems like a negative feeling now will actually be one of the best things that has ever happened to you.
It’s that realisation that you know you have done wrong – it’s a mark that you’ve identified an area you can improve on and you’re willing to accept that. And that fact my friend, is so exciting because it means you are about to grow and I am oh so happy for you!
Growth comes from some of the most challenging places – it’s strange how that works. Sometimes it’s fear of the uncertain that drives us to make change, just so that we can gain that little bit more clarity in our lives we so dearly desire.
So with all that said – accept the past for what it is, reflect on it and put some measures in place to mend the things that have broken down because of some contribution you have made. Take ownership of those mistakes and improve on them in the best way that works for you. I think one of the best ways that has worked for me is letting my changes be changes that are for the better of the world, not just me. Something to consider.
Just remember, you are not the mistakes of your past – you are the lessons and capabilities you have gained from it.
